RedChapterLogo.jpg

Welcome to the official web site of EAA Chapter 1083!  On this web site we will introduce you our organization, it's members and it's mission.  We will tell you about our suporting organization-the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh Wisconsin, and highlight other important areas on our site.   We will also give details of our next formal event.  Thanks for visiting.

We would like to introduce you to EAA Chapter 1083, we are 1 of over 1000  registered world wide chapters,  of the Experimental Aircraft Association which has it's home office in Oshkosh Wisconsin. We are a non-profit group made up of people who have an interest in aviation.  It is not necessary to be a pilot or aircraft owner to enjoy our group, just being an aviation enthusiast makes you eligible to join in the fun.   We do  have many personally owned aircraft within our membership, aircraft ranging from new sleek cross country general aviation machines, vintage aircraft from years ago,  to experimentals or homebuilt kit aircraft, new light sport aircraft and ultralights. Our mission is to promote the sport and hobby of recreational aviation, and encourage others to experience the thrill of flight.  We encourage all our members to "ride along" on trips, sharing the glories of flight with other pilots around the area.

Our Monthly Business meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Rowan County Airport, in our Hangar named the EAAgles Nest (see picture below)     Other monthly  activities include a scheduled flight activity, our  First Saturday Lunch, a Tech Meeting.

We always have many special events planned each year, like poker runs and "spring retreat" at Lumberton NC, where we go and camp out as a group.  Look on our our upcoming events on our events calendar and scheduled activities pages for more information.

The picture above is the North Ramp at Rowan County Airport, (RUQ)  which includes our EAAgles Nest.  We are located between the two rows of hangars on the Left hand side of this photo.   During our activities we open North the gate that is behind the blue roofed hangars, then you can drive to the EAAgles Nest Area.  Please use caution as aircraft often operate on this area also.
